Finding a bargain and helping the environment with Paperclip

**This is a sponsored post**

Some things are just easier or cheaper to buy second hand. Not to mention how much eco friendly it is to sell or even giveaway items rather than take them to the local tip. I hate the idea of things unnecessarily going to landfill so to me any way of finding a new home for something is great. Currently there are Facebook groups and various online websites but have you heard of paperclip. I must be honest I hadn’t before looking into it to share with you.

What is paperclip?

An app that helps you find things in your area to buy, sell or giveaway for free. It is great for everyone with a smart phone so unlike Facebook Market Place you don’t have to be a member of Facebook. The app is available on both Android and Apple devices.

How do you find stuff?

By setting your postcode and the distance you are prepared to travel you can search what is being sold or given away near you. It is easy to filter for different categories or just have a look and see what is available. Near me there currently is Ralph Lauren children’s clothes, TV stand, lampshade, Fitbit, IPhone, TV bed, corner sofa and lots more so a huge variety.

What are the prices like?

The paperclip app does not have prices for items but instead asks you place an offer if you are interested in an item. Not only that but you can also add items to trade. For example if you saw a mobile phone you liked you could offer a different phone to trade if you so wished. It is really easy to make an offer and withdraw it if you change your mind.

What else do I need to know?

All items are clearly marked if they are collection only or if they can offer delivery. There are also groups you can join on Paperclip in the same way there are Facebook selling groups. The kind of groups you can find are things like handmade baby garments for sale, DJ buy sell and swap, etc. I think this is a great feature as if you are looking for something a bit more specific this would be a good way to find it. If you find someone who regularly seems to sell items you like the sound of you can follow users too which is pretty cool.

Why use Paperclip?

We have all been in a position where we have an item we want to sell and we try anywhere to sell it. Next time you’re in this position use paperclip too, it’s free so well worth a try. If you want to find a new home for something rather than take it to the tip then the offers feature on paperclip is great because you can sell to the best offer you get and make a little money. If you are looking for things to buy it is so easy to look at what is near you and being able to put an offer in means you never know what bargain you may get!

If you want to try Paperclip for yourself just pop over to the app store or play store on your device and download the app for free. What would be the first thing you would look to sell, giveaway or buy? I think I would look for a treadmill as I quite fancy one however I am not sure we have the space!
