When I saw the #OreoCookieQuest challenge I thought it looked fun. We were sent a couple of packets of Oreo’s and given a challenge. The challenge is to spend time together as a family whilst eating Oreo’s. Sounds fun doesn’t it! Now you all know me, I could happily sit and munch a whole pack of Oreo biscuits to myself, that certainly wouldn’t be a challenge. However making it more fun than that and only having a couple would be more of a challenge. We had some great ideas and great fun, what did we do?
With a serving really only being two biscuits each we decided the best way was to have lots of fun each winning our cookies. This way is so much better for those like us following a healthy eating plan and wanting a little treat, burning some energy having family fun before getting to enjoy them. Using Ben’s table football we removed the players grabbed some straws and played Oreo Ball. It was such fun as you can see.
Blowing through the straw you had to get the cookie to the goal – not as easy as it looked!
As you can see Ben found it hilarious. At 12 he often prefers his own company playing on his Xbox in his room so it was great to have some family time that we all really enjoyed!
The only real rule being that you can only use blowing through the straw to move the Oreo Cookie and the straw must not touch the cookie in the process. As you can see it was easy to get very involved in the game leaning in to try the best you could to stop your opponent scoring and try to score yourself.
As it was such fun it really didn’t matter who scored we each had a couple of Oreo Cookies anyway and could each eat them however we fancied. Of course myself and Stuart just ate them, Ben decided he wanted to dunk his in milk using a fork and make them last even longer!
If like us you are trying to eat healthily then having lots of fun and making the enjoyment of a couple of Oreo cookies last really makes treating yourself much more of a family event and less of a few minutes munching greedily a whole pack! How would you and your family have fun with some Oreo Cookies? Would you try a game like this or curl up under a blanket after playing in the snow with a hot chocolate and Oreo’s to dunk?
We were sent the Oreo’s to have fun with for the post but all the ideas were our own and we definitely had the fun pictured!
