Recently we were invited to attend a charity event hosted at COSMO in Derby on London Road. If you have not been to a COSMO before you really do not know what you are missing. It is a world buffet restaurant with all you can eat food for a set price. The price varies a little by day but if you like your food (and don’t we all?!) then it is great value. I wanted to share with you guys the amazing work COSMO are doing to help local charities.

Charity Tuesdays at COSMO Derby – What is it all about?

Every Tuesday from September 10th until November 19th 2019 at the Derby COSMO restaurant kids eat for just £1. All these pounds will add up and be donated to their chosen charity which is currently Derby County Community Trust.

The offer is only valid during Tuesday lunchtimes and Tuesday evenings with one full paying adult per £1 child. Still though, what a bargain!

The first event to open Charity Tuesdays

We were invited to the first event where we got to sample stuff ourselves silly all the amazing foods COSMO have to offer. They were raising money specifically for a local man who has terminal cancer to help him make more memories with his young children. It was lovely to feel we could help in some way.

The mayor of Derby, Frank Harwood, attended and the picture above shows him and his lovely wife along with the restaurant manager Sid Panday and his beautiful wife.

Why choose to eat at COSMO Derby?

Not only is COSMO Derby a great place to eat on a Tuesday because of the bargain kids for £1 deal and knowing you are helping charity at the same time but it is also blooming tasty!

The buffet style restaurant has more than 150 dishes from 10 different world cuisines. They serve everything from pizza to carvery and Chinese to Brazilian food and so much more. There are also live cooking stations where you can watch the chefs do their thing.

Allergens are all clearly marked and staff are helpful when asking for alternatives as we found when we had to change a few ingredients for Ben’s allergies.

Cosmo and healthy eating?

It is easy to think of a buffet meal like this as being unhealthy. However actually the variety is great and you can eat as healthily or as unhealthily as you like. With so much to choose from though one day off your diet wont hurt will it?
