A cluttered mind leads to muddled thinking and muddled thinking leads to a chaotic life, and none of us wants that. Finding ways to de-stress and de-clutter your mind from all those thoughts racing around isn’t as simple as we would like given the busy world that we live in.

How many times have you sat down with the intention of relaxing but found yourself in a worse state of mind because you can’t stop thinking? Ever woken up feeling more tired than you were before you went to bed? Learn to de-clutter your mind with these four strategies.

Get Rid of Financial Worries

Financial worries will clutter up your mind. Money makes the world go around and, without it, just trying to survive can be an exhausting task. Addressing where your monetary problems are coming from and starting to make changes to get your finances in order will relieve an enormous burden on yourself and others around you.

Taking out a home equity line of credit is an option you can leverage to get yourself back on track and solve your money worries. Not sure how home equity loans work? Take a look at a guide online that will answer any questions you might have.

Meditate to de-clutter your mind

Take 10 – 20 minutes each day to look after your mental wellbeing and allow your mind to become free from all of life’s worries by using meditation. Where you do it is up to you, but it’s best to do it somewhere quiet and where you are certain there will be no distractions.

You don’t have to restrict yourself to your own space, either. Getting away from areas you spend most of your time in will make it easier to meditate, so try going outside to nature. If there is a park nearby, this is perfect. Guides to meditation are easy to find and the practice takes up little time for a big reward.

Journaling

Writing a diary or journal will allow you to release all those troubles onto paper, and you never have to look at what you write again. Journals don’t have to be award-winning pieces of literature. It’s for yourself and nobody else, so if you feel your writing is not up to scratch or has little structure, it doesn’t matter.

In fact, it is probably just best to let your pen take you wherever it wants to go. Doing this each day before sleeping will leave you in a better space to get a good night’s sleep and wake up refreshed for the following day.

Talk to Your Friends

There’s no better way to de-clutter your mind than to talk to friends. If you’re cynical about the power of articulating your thoughts, just give it a try. It isn’t an easy thing to do, even if you are already a great talker, but as long as you have someone you trust then you will gradually get better at doing it.

Express your thoughts and feelings, and do not have a fear of saying something stupid, as it is likely the person you are talking to will feel the same. The power of solidarity when it comes to relating to feelings is incredible and should never be dismissed. There are some unsavoury things that can happen as a result of avoiding feeling and discussing your emotions, the physical manifestation of this stress can be significant.
