Third-party cover is the most basic of all car insurances and it is the legal minimum coverage that a driver can have. It won’t cover damage to your car, but it will cover the costs of damage to a third party involved in an accident.

Third-party insurance will pay out on injuries to other people, other people’s property and passengers who are injured in an accident that is your fault. But it will not cover you if your car is stolen or catches fire.

Third-party fire and theft is slightly more coverage than just the third-party cover. it will cover you if your car catches fire or if it is stolen. This option is usually the best option for younger drivers because it is more affordable for them. But they still get okay coverage. As their cars are usually old and less likely to cost a lot to repair in an accident.

Can One Driver Insure Two Cars?

If you have more than one car, then it can work out cheaper to get multi insurance. With multi-insurance, you can insure up to 6 cars on some policies.

You can start the policy with one car, and then if you buy another little runaround, you can add another one to the same policy. This works out cheaper than taking out two car insurance policies.

It means that all of the car insurance is also in one place, in case you need to make a claim. You can also insure your family that lives at home on a multi-car insurance policy. But if you add your kids to the multi-insurance policy, you could find the policy becoming more expensive. If you have a multi-insurance policy, you only have to remember one date for renewals. Make Sure That You Can Afford The Insurance

It is always cheaper to pay your car insurance off in one go. So when you buy you get the right insurance policy, pay it off and then that’s it for the next 12 months. If you cannot afford to pay it all upfront, you can pay your first month, then the rest over 12 months. Although this makes it affordable, you do pay more in the long run, because there will be interest to pay.

If you choose to pay over 12 months, you will need to remember to have the money in to cover the payment. Otherwise, your insurance policy will be cancelled.

Check The Small Print On The Policy

This is something that needs to be done when you take out any insurance or contract. But with insurance, you need to make sure that it is water-tight in case of an accident. Check that you have complete coverage and it is all legal. Check that you will not have to pay any extra money over the course of your insurance.
