Accessorise
If you don’t have the money to buy a new kitchen, consider spending your money on stylish accessories instead. One big trend we have seen recently is the use of copper. If you like the look of this trend, why not install copper pendant lighting above your breakfast bar or island, and opt for matching accessories like a copper kettle or dish draining rack? If you look at the likes of The Range, adding accessories to your kitchen doesn’t have to cost the earth. Best of all, you can change the look of your kitchen easily as the trends change!
Change only what needs changing
Instead of wanting a whole new kitchen and then being disheartened because you can’t afford it look at the priorities. Do the actual cupboards need changing or could you replace the fronts or your kitchen worktops for a completely new look? There are so many different styles and it can really change the look of the whole room. Quartz worktops would be my choice but have a look around and see what you like.
Upcycle to upgrade your kitchen
For the tightest budget of all, consider upcycling your current kitchen units. Even the oldest of kitchens can be transformed with a new stain or a lick of paint. Why not grab your favourite interior magazine and get some inspiration? Dark kitchens are very popular at the moment, so you could paint your units a deep blue. If you’re looking to open up the space of your kitchen a bit more, consider taking the doors off the cabinets. The possibilities are truly endless!
Declutter
Does your kitchen actually need an upgrade at all? Maybe you are struggling for space because it is cluttered and a good sort out would help. Look in each of your cupboards and see what you actually use! If you have unopened jars or packets you know you won’t use then donate them to the local food bank.
Do you have gadgets you never use? That mandolin you bought with good intentions but never use? Get rid of anything you don’t use and before you know it your kitchen could be much more minimalistic and not need doing up at all!
