Do you look in the mirror and wish you had lost a few pounds to feel better in that party dress or to be able to do up the dress at all? If you are worried about this then you have not necessarily left it too late. There are still around 6 weeks to go and any changes to your diet could lose you a few pounds by then.
Top tips for losing a few pounds before Christmas
- Be realistic
There is no point aiming to lose 3 stones before Christmas, all this will do will make you feel like a failure.
2. Do it for you not anyone else
Whilst you may want to look better to impress other people at Christmas, the reality is if you are not completely motivated to do it for yourself you will never succeed.
3. Set both targets and rewards
If you have events coming up in the lead up to Christmas, be sure to build these into your plan and reward successes. Ensuring you have rewards in place will help you to stay on track.
4. Ensure you are always full
If you are hungry it is easy to eat things that are full of fat or sugar and undo all that hard work. By checking you have high protein foods or products like the below Optifast products you will stay full for longer and are less likely to grab a bar of chocolate because you are feeling peckish!
How to lose weight for Christmas
There are a number of different ways you could look to lose weight before Christmas. You could follow a calorie-controlled diet that allows you to easily fit into your lifestyle and meals out. If you like to calorie-count and have the time for this, this can be one of the most effective ways to lose weight as you can be sure you are eating enough to stay healthy and lose weight.
If you find yourself busy with wrapping presents, meals out and going to watch the children’s Christmas plays then maybe you would struggle to fit in a plan which requires counting and measuring? If so maybe Optifast is for you?
Optifast has two different options you can follow, both of which will enable you to lose weight before Christmas. The full meal replacement plan involves replacing everything you eat with 4 Optifast products throughout the day. This is around 800 calories and will ensure you lose weight. This should only be followed for 3 weeks followed by a partial meal replacement.
Partial meal replacement (talked about previously here) involves having two Optifast products a day and two low-calorie meals. Alternatively, you could just replace some meals as and when it suits you with an Optifast product.
