While it is quite evident that winter is in full swing, spring isn’t too far away, so now might be a good time to start thinking about the annual spring clean for a better mind, boosting your general wellbeing.
There are 3 simple things you can start to think about or even do right now:

Clutter is the burden of any home and makes even the nicest house look awful, even though you can’t see the contents of your closet, you know what’s in there and a quick home makeover can work wonders for your sense of homeliness.
Keep, Store of Throw Away
One of the most common things to do in our homes is to accumulate things that we don’t actually need. This is known as clutter because it “clutters up” the available space in our homes that could be used for something useful.
A lot of items that sit on our shelves also gather dust and mites that are terrible for anyone with allergies and cleaning them all the time is just an unnecessary added task to our chores. While no one is suggesting you just throw everything away as part of your spring clean, it might be time to take a good look around and see if there’s anything that just doesn’t need to be there.
There are storage locker companies like Store and More which are great for keeping hold of important documents or special items that you just can’t bear to part with, but anything that doesn’t fall into these categories, apart from furniture and appliances, could be thought of as clutter.
There will be some trinkets and memories you want to keep hold of such as photos of loved ones, family heirlooms, or your favourite china, but the more sentimental items could even be placed in a special memory box.
No Monsters In Here
Out of sight, out of mind is quite the misnomer and a phrase that really shouldn’t be used when it comes to important things. Any parent knows that when the kids are away, they are never off your mind, so it doesn’t really make sense.
Closets, drawers, and cupboards are the same. Just because you can’t see what’s in them, doesn’t mean you don’t know what’s there. One study has even found that regularly cleaning out closets caused a drop in cortisol level, a known contributor to stress and weight gain.
Have a look in the closet and really think about what is there. Do you need that uncomfortable red dress that you wore once to impress someone, that you know you will never wear again? Are those “too high” heels going to look good with any of your new sensible clothing? And do you really need that many spare pillows? Have a spring clean and get rid of these things.
Refresh and Revive
We all know that one person who seems to always be having their home renovated or redecorated and we always get a little bit jealous. But redecorating doesn’t need to be expensive, it just takes a little bit of time.
A quick fresh coat of paint on the walls and door frames or an in-style wallpaper on a feature wall can absolutely change the appeal of a room and make it way more inviting, feel spacious and cleaner.
There’s nothing like a newly arranged and decorated room to refresh your mind and spirit, especially if it’s one of your favourite rooms like the lounge or bedroom.
