When Ben tells me how he would love to live abroad he often states the weather as one of the reasons. To be honest I don’t blame him. Whilst in some respects I don’t mind the weather here as we have a nice mixture there are other aspects I blooming hate! So today I thought I would have a bit of a rant to you!
Sun
I love the sun but oh my why can’t we have a bit more of it. There are no days in Britain where you can be guaranteed nice weather. We can have horrible heavy rain in August and winter sun in December.
The unpredictableness of the sun is so frustrating don’t you think? How often can you plan a BBQ in advance and not have to have a backup plan? Not to mention having to prepare for a summer body then there is no rain!
Rain
When it rains it really rains, on the whole, it seems to have spent the last month raining every day doesn’t it? I hate the way the ground becomes so waterlogged and everywhere is muddy.
You would think given we have so much rain in this country we would be prepared for it and never go out without an umbrella, wouldn’t you?
Sadly that never seems to be the case. On the plus side at least we have plastic cases for many things that really can not get wet. I am not aware of any eco-friendly alternative so I won’t be ditching that kind of plastic any time soon!
Windy weather
Bitter cold winds are bad enough but when you combine wind and rain it is horrible. I guess it is not so much the climate just me being a bit of a snowflake but I hate wind and rain combined. My hair blows everywhere, in autumn and not only do you get bitterly cold but also soaking wet. Are there any countries where there isn’t wind? I am sure I could live without it!
Snow
I love the snow it looks so pretty doesn’t it when it is falling heavily and the sky is filled with beautiful snowflakes. Why oh why are we never prepared for it though?

The traffic always comes to a halt and people drive like idiots despite everywhere being slippery. If only we could have snow just on days when no one needed to go anywhere like Christmas Day!
Not that the emergency services who work all year round would benefit from that though. They would still make use of a push snow plough to help them travel safely on the roads.
Rainbows
Whilst I am not a fan of the rain I would love more rainbows, don’t you think they are beautiful? A lot of people find them to be helpful when grieving which is lovely.
I don’t particularly associate them with that but do find them truly beautiful. Maybe this goes to show as much as I am not a fan of the rain I do like it a little as it brings us rainbows!
