Description
Easy healthy potato wedges as a tasty alternative to chips. they are perfect loaded with your favourite toppings or as a side to other dishes.
Ingredients
4 large potatoes (you can use any potatoes you wish)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: additional seasonings like chilli powder, dried herbs, or grated Parmesan cheese for added flavour
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). This temperature ensures that the wedges cook evenly and develop a crispy exterior.
Wash the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. You can peel the potatoes if you prefer, but leaving the skin on adds extra flavour and texture.
Cut the potatoes into wedge shapes. Start by cutting the potato in half lengthwise.
Then, place each half cut-side down and make additional lengthwise cuts to create wedges. Aim for about 8 wedges per potato.
Place the wedges in a bowl and drizzle with the olive oil.
Toss them gently to ensure all the wedges are coated evenly.
In a separate small bowl, combine the garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. You can also add other desired seasonings to customise the flavour of your wedges.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the potato wedges. Toss them again, ensuring the seasoning is evenly distributed.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
Arrange the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer on the baking sheet, leaving some space between them for better air circulation.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until the wedges turn golden brown and crispy.
Turn the wedges halfway through to ensure even browning.
Once the potato wedges are cooked to your desired crispness, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Serve the potato wedges as a delicious side dish or snack.
You can pair them with ketchup, barbecue sauce, sour cream, or any other dipping sauce of your choice.
