Wedding Day Beauty Hacks That Every Bride Should Know

For most women, looking their best on their wedding day is an absolute must. This is why more than 62% of brides try to lose weight before the big day and hire makeup and hair artists to achieve that bridal glow.

While you may look amazing during the first hour of your wedding festivities, there’s the possibility of looking tired, sweaty, and oily as the day goes on. If you’re about to tie the knot, it’s important to ensure that you look pristine from your walk down the aisle to the last few minutes of your reception. To look your best on your wedding day, here are some bridal beauty hacks that you should know.

Wedding day after weight loss

Keep Your Jewelry in Pristine Condition

Out of all your wedding day bling, your engagement ring and wedding rings are going to be the focal point of your entire look. That’s why it’s important to take your time when buying these pieces as there are so many ring sizes and styles to choose from. However, apart from choosing the right rings, you should also take care of your other pieces so they look their best on the big day.

First, avoid applying body lotion and perfume while wearing your earrings, necklace, bracelets, or rings since these substances can dull the stones and metals of your jewellery. It’s better to apply these products before wearing jewellery and wait for at least 5 minutes before slipping on your bling.

Next, check if your earring backs are secure to avoid losing one or both on your wedding day. If they feel a little loose, replace the earring backs with ones that screw back or ones that lock onto the earring post.

Meanwhile, for those who plan to wear heavy dangling earrings, it’s important to distribute the weight evenly to avoid elongating your piercings or tearing your ear lobes. You can do so by wearing ear support patches behind your ears, or wearing a support chain that connects the earrings to small clips that you attach to your hair.

Make Your Makeup Last All Day

If you’re hiring a professional to do your makeup for your wedding, then you can be assured that they’ve taken steps to make your makeup last all day. However, if you’re doing your makeup yourself, then you’ll need to invest in a few things to bulletproof your look, especially if you’re having a summer wedding.

First, you’ll need a primer, make sure that it’s silicon-based and leaves a matte finish. Next, you’ll need a foundation with a matte or semi-matte finish. Avoid dewy or glowy foundations since these will make you look too shiny or oily later on. Using a matte foundation, concealer, and powder will also prevent makeup flashbacks so you can take all the flash photos you want on your wedding.

You’ll also need matte eyeshadows in neutral colours, powder blush, and lipstick in a matte or satin formula. Don’t forget to add waterproof mascara and eyeliner to ensure that your eye makeup looks clean all throughout your special day. After applying your makeup, seal everything with a setting spray mist, then gently fan dry your face.

Make Your Perfume Last Longer

You’ll probably be too busy to think about reapplying fragrance throughout your wedding day. While you can certainly touch up your perfume after the wedding ceremony, there are ways to make your scent last a little longer.

The secret lies in layering. Plan on using a body wash, body lotion, and perfume from the same line or ones that share the same scent profile. For example, if you’re using a rose body wash, use a rose-scented lotion all over your body, and a rose perfume on top of that.

Also, since perfume tends to fade quickly when you apply it to your skin, another way to make it last longer is to spray it on your hair. Don’t spray it on your gown though since it may leave stains. Instead, spritz a little on your bra so you can get whiffs of your perfume throughout the day.

Every bride deserves to look and feel her best on her wedding day. Consider these tips to look beautifully fresh, glowing, and ethereal all throughout your special day.
