Midweek Catch-Up 20/08/25
Hello again, I hope everyone is doing well. It only seems like a few days since I did the last midweek catch-up, but it has already been a week! So, here is my update for you from the last week!

Weight Loss, Exercise and Mental Health Catch-up
This week on the scales, I had a slight gain, but I am still at almost a 2 stone weight loss in total, so I am more than happy with that and will keep going. I have been so busy, I haven’t been for any walks to speak of, but I am still trying to be more active in general than I was before. My X-ray results are not back, and I am still having a few chest issues, so I think I might have to go back to the doctors again!
My mental health is pretty good at the moment. I have some dips still, but I feel like I am getting better at recognising them and working through them.
Books
I have been enjoying reading a lot in the last week, though I haven’t got through as many books as last week!
I finished Eight Years of Lies by Lisa Hall and really enjoyed it. I think if you like authors like Freida McFadden, you would enjoy it, but if I am honest, some of it I predicted about halfway through!
I have also read The Quiet Wife by Diane Saxon. I have read a lot of her books before, and I love them; this was no exception. It has lots of twists and turns and is definitely a good choice if, like me, you like a psychological thriller!
Have you read any of K L Slater’s books? I really enjoy them and spotted quite a new one I hadn’t read yet so this week I enjoyed that on Audible. It is called The Waitress and yet another psychological thriller! Can you tell it is my favourite genre? I really enjoyed it.
I am currently listening to and reading (I have it on Audible and a physical book!), The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman. Whilst I have had the book for years, I just hadn’t got around to reading it so this was a good opportunity. I am enjoying it so far, so I think I will move on to the others in the series.
I am also back to reading Nothing to See Here by Susan Lewis. Ben bought it for me for Mother’s Day. I started it and read about half, then got busy and didn’t go back to it, and then we went on holiday and I wanted to only take my Kindle, not any physical books (easier by the pool!), so I put it to one side. Now, I am back to reading it and enjoying it still, so I will keep you updated on that one.
If you are looking for ideas to treat yourself or perhaps to ask for for Christmas, then I highly recommend my Kindle!

Family and Life
I am still up on cloud nine, planning for our wedding. Yes, I know there is ages yet, as it isn’t until 2027, but I am excited. I have been looking online at dresses and ideas, and it is taking up so much of my time, mostly just because I am so excited! Also, because I keep looking, they keep popping up as adverts, blooming cookies!
Stuart is also excited, but I think less so than I, probably because it is more of a girly thing to get excited, maybe? What do you think?
