The weather is getting cooler and that means it is time to get out the winter clothes. Jumpers, scarves, gloves and of course warm jackets. Do you go on winter holidays or just spend all winter here in the UK?

I love to buy a new winter coat most years so I am sure you do too. Certainly, for growing kids it is essential, isn’t it?

Have you considered ski wear from Protest Clothing as an alternative to the usual high-street winter coats?

Why choose Protest clothing?

If you have never heard of Protest then don’t worry you are not alone. They are less well known here than they are in The Netherlands.

A friend’s son lives there and tells me it is a much-loved brand there and very desirable. After ordering from them and seeing the high quality of their clothing I can see why.

Protest has a variety of clothing and a good range of ski jackets for men perfect for growing teenagers who walk a distance to school. If you want to keep them warm but still have something stylish and design led I would definitely recommend taking a look.

They also stock great fashionable and functional clothing and coats for women with a number of women’s ski jackets that look great and so warm you will love them!

If you are still unsure why not check the website out to see for yourself?

What was my experience with Protest?

We received a voucher to order some clothing from Protest to try out for ourselves. I was tempted by the women’s fleeces but decided instead to treat Ben.

He loves clothes shopping and choosing his own style. I used to think I knew what he would like and what he wouldn’t but as he grows up I am not so sure anymore!

Ben loves gilets and fleeces. He is almost 15 and not far off 6 feet so has been in men’s clothes for quite some time now. After a few minutes of looking through all the clothes, he loved the variety of men’s fleeces and spotted a gilet he loved.

For our £160 voucher, Ben chose a Tshirt, two jumpers and a gilet. He could have easily got more for the money but has quite eclectic taste and likes the more expensive stuff!

Whilst it seems a lot to spend on just 4 items I was actually pleasantly surprised when we received them with how good quality they are.

I had imagined the jumpers to be cheap and thin but they were stunning quality. The gilet is so warm yet so thin. I guess this is the amazing quality you get with ski wear. It is made to be warm but stylish and thin enough for active people.

Do you fancy some Protest clothing?

What will you choose? Do you need a new coat for yourself or your partner? If you are looking for Children’s clothes Protest do them too so take a look.

The sizes do come up quite small so I would recommend going up a size or looking at their size guides. If you are planning some winter sun do pop over to the sale page as there are some lovely bikinis!

How to have a healthy winter this year

If you are planning how to feel good this winter then you need to add a healthy diet to your plan. Whether you follow a weight loss plan or just try to eat a little healthier it should be easy to plan a healthier winter. A few simple swaps like grilled chicken instead of fried chicken could make all the difference.

Soup is always a popular winter meal but it’s not always filling. Pasta soups can help bulk them up and become a staple on your winter meal plan alongside the classic beef stew.

Are you starting the day with a healthy filling breakfast? Try overnight oats or baked oats for a good start to the day as an alternative to porridge and I am sure you won’t feel hungry until lunch. Why not pop your tea in the slow cooker at the same time as you make breakfast to save time? Most recipes can easily be adapted for the slow cooker.

If you hate meal planning then I have some winter meal plans that could help you. Why not take a look at the warming winter meal plan? If you need a big boost then my syn free meal plan might be perfect too.

Don’t forget to keep an eye on nutrients too with things like cranberry juice drinks and ensuring any recipes you make have plenty of vegetables.
