When I was invited to review the spring/summer menu at Las Iguanas, Liverpool One whilst myself and Ben were in the city, I jumped at the chance. They offered us a voucher towards our meal in return for a review. All views are all my own and those of Ben.

The Las Iguanas Liverpool One Restaurant

Las Iguanas is a Latin American restaurant and bar serving dishes and cocktails from across Central and South America including Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

I have never eaten in this chain before so I was a little unsure what to expect but the restaurant was bright and cheerful inside. There was a good variety of areas to sit in both indoors and outdoors to eat or drink.

All the staff were really friendly and all the customers seemed happy when we arrived which is always a good sign, isn’t it?

We ate there on a Wednesday evening in the Easter holidays when the weather was beautiful. It was quite busy inside the restaurant without being uncomfortably so.

Las Iguanas Spring/Summer Menu Choices

The menu was packed full of a huge variety of dishes available to suit everyone.

Hands up if you love looking at the menu and choosing what you’re going to have before you get there! The menu clearly showed which items were suitable for different dietary requirements.

A menu for special dietary requirements

Ben has a relatively severe nut and sesame allergy so eating out is always a bit of a challenge.

When I asked the member of staff serving us if he could check the contents of any of the meals for me he produced a folder (pictured above) with every meal and drink they serve in.

It listed all the allergens each contained and really put my mind at rest. Whilst staff could have checked this for me it is always more reassuring to check for yourself.

What was the food like?

Both Ben and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food came really fast. Ben had Pork Antichuchos to start with followed by a Buenos Aires burger and finished with Brownie, Cookie and Ice-cream.

He thoroughly enjoyed them all but was very impressed when the member of staff serving us said if his starter was too spicy for him he would swap it for something else no problem.

For my meal I had a starter of Jackfruit Tinga Tacos, then Cheesy Butternut Squash Maracana followed by Creamy Caramel Cake.

I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. The vegetarian choices available were great with some vegan choices too so I was very impressed.

I find it so frustrating when places only do a limited choice for vegetarians or vegans! In some places, your only choice is a burger.

Speed of Service

The speed of service was pretty reasonable considering how busy they were and that they were being extra careful to cook and prepare Ben’s food away from any nuts or sesame.

I did not witness anyone complaining about any waiting times so I believe everyone was as happy as we were.

Quality of service

I was thoroughly impressed by all the service we received. We encountered a number of members of staff on our visit who were all polite and friendly.

We were asked on a few occasions if the part of the meal we had was good and it felt like the staff genuinely cared about us enjoying our visit.

The drinks

The choice of drinks was brilliant and Ben was impressed with the choice of non-alcoholic cocktails.

We enjoyed a few and they were lovely and felt like real cocktails not like when some places call orange juice and lemonade a cocktail!

Our Overall experience at Las Iguanas, Liverpool One

We had a really enjoyable meal at Las Iguanas and despite having never eaten there before I would definitely eat there again in the future.

The choice of meals was great and the service was outstanding. A lovely relaxing meal was full of flavour and variety.
