TYMO CurlPro Plus Review: The Automatic Hair Curler Even Beginners Can Use

I have to start this review with a confession.
I am definitely not a hair expert.
I can manage a quick blow-dry, and I can straighten my hair, but when it comes to creating beautiful curls that look like they belong on Instagram, I have never really mastered it. Traditional curling wands have always felt awkward to use and, if I’m honest, I’ve always worried about burning myself.
So when I was sent the TYMO CurlPro Plus to review, I was intrigued but also a little sceptical.
Thankfully, my friend’s daughter Erin came to the rescue. Like all teenagers, she loves spending time doing her hair and make-up. She showed me exactly how to use it and modelled the results for my photos, which meant I could see first-hand just how easy this styling tool really is.
After trying it myself, I can honestly say this is one of the most beginner-friendly hair styling tools I have ever used.

First Impressions
The first thing I noticed was how premium the TYMO CurlPro Plus feels.
The design is sleek and modern, and despite looking quite advanced, the controls are actually really simple. There aren’t dozens of buttons or confusing settings to work out.
For anyone who feels overwhelmed by styling tools, that’s a huge plus.
The instructions were easy to follow, and within minutes, Erin was demonstrating exactly how it worked.
How Easy Is The TYMO CurlPro Plus To Use?
This is where the CurlPro Plus really impressed me.
With a traditional curling wand, you need to wrap the hair yourself, hold it in place and hope you’ve got the angle right.
With the TYMO CurlPro Plus, you simply:
- Take a section of hair.
- Place it into the opening.
- Press the rotate button.
- Wait for the curl to form.
- Release.
That’s it.

The Results
The curls were what really sold me on this product.

Absolutely. In fact, I think beginners are probably the people who will appreciate it most.

You don’t need salon skills.

You don’t need to worry about wrapping hair around a wand correctly.

Alongside the CurlPro Plus, I also tried the TYMO Paddle Brush.
Whilst it might seem like a simple accessory, it worked really well when preparing the hair before styling and brushing out curls afterwards.
The brush glided through the hair easily without pulling and helped create softer, more natural-looking waves once the curls had cooled.
If you’re not particularly interested in hair styling tools, you might wonder why a paddle brush is worth mentioning at all.
A paddle brush is a large, flat brush designed to gently detangle hair and smooth it without creating too much tension. The wide surface area means it can cover more hair at once, making it ideal for long, thick or easily tangled hair.

For me, yes.
There are plenty of hair tools on the market that promise salon-quality results, but many still require a lot of skill to use properly.
The TYMO CurlPro Plus feels different because it genuinely makes curling easier.
As someone who wouldn’t normally describe herself as talented at styling hair, I found it surprisingly simple to achieve attractive curls with very little effort.
If you regularly struggle with curling irons, have long hair, or simply want a quicker way to create soft, bouncy curls at home, then I think the TYMO CurlPro Plus is well worth considering.

As Erin showed me, the CurlPro Plus is surprisingly intuitive to use. She picked it up quickly and created beautiful curls with very little effort, which gave me confidence that this is a styling tool suitable for a wide range of ages and experience levels.

On Erin’s hair, the curls held their shape well throughout the day and gradually relaxed into soft waves rather than dropping out completely over the next few days.
For the best results I would recommend:
