Are you a breakfast person? I never used to really eat breakfast but now I try to make myself have a bit of something. It is usually more mid morning though after I have dropped Ben off at school and feel properly awake. A day is never the same if you are hungry though is it?
Do you know anyone who has to miss breakfast because of finances? I always feel this is such a shame but sadly many people struggle to make ends meet. In this position, many people may skip a meal like breakfast. I think it is an important topic to discuss though and this is why.
Can you imagine regularly skipping meals because you just can’t afford to eat? Can you imagine having to miss your meals so your children can eat? In my opinion, no one should have to live like this anywhere in the world. The sad thing is though they do.
One of the charities that help people like this is Christian Aid. They work across the world to ensure that not only do they spread the Christian faith but they also reduce poverty and help people to access the support they need.
There are lots of ways you can help too. Whether it is donating to a local schools breakfast club, putting a few items in the food bank collection of your local supermarket or having a Big Brekkie for Christian Aid. The video below by them shows a little more as does this link.
How can you help?
Could you help to make sure no one has to go without breakfast? Whether that be putting a 20p item into the food bank collection or hosting a big breakfast event for Christian Aid and raising lots of money you could do your bit.
If on the other hand, you are struggling to make ends meet and afford breakfast remember help is out there and it is nothing to be ashamed of.
If I was to discover one of my friends was struggling I know I would help them out and I am sure many of you would too. Give this a share and let everyone know they can help or ask for help.
