90+ Slimming World breakfast ideas

What could you have to start healthily? Check out my Slimming World breakfast ideas. A healthy start is important with a cuppa to fuel you, so you should never miss. I know we don’t always have the time for a big breakfast meal but it stops you feeling hungry all day. If you follow Slimming World’s plan, Weight Watchers or any other weight loss plan always check your plan for advice.

Using fruit for a Slimming World breakfast idea

Slimming World discourages smoothies because fruit contains natural sugars which, when blended are easy to over-consume. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to their rules!

Fruit and Fat free Yoghurt

Try different flavours and fruits for variety. Alternatively, use fat-free natural yogurt or fromage frais and add flavourings like a drizzle of choc shot or fruit. Chocolate and raspberries go well together.

Overnight oats

Baked oats (using porridge oats)

Check my baked oats guide for low syn recipes you might fancy using golden syrup, vanilla essence, sweetener etc.

Using HEB allowance

  • All-Bran or own-brand similar – 50g for your HEB
  • Shredded Wheat, 2 for a HEB or 40g of bitesize
  • Oats 40g are a HEB. Measure so you don’t guess and pour out 100g!
  • Weetabix, 2 for your HEB.
  • Raisin Wheats 40g
  • Frosted Wheats 40g
  • Bran flakes 45g

Cereal, cereal bars and Pop Tarts

Here are some syn values.

  • Cornflakes – 4.5 for 25g
  • Luxury muesli – 9 for 50g
  • Rice Krispies – 5 for 25g
  • Frosties – 4.5 for 25g or 6.5 for 35g
  • Honey loops – 4.5 for 25g
  • Coco Pops (original or white) – 5 for 25g or 6 for 30g
  • Crunchy Nut cornflakes – 5 for 25g
  • Just Right – 4.5 for 25g
  • Krave (all varieties) – 5.5 for 25g
  • Unicorn fruit loops – 5 for 25g
  • Special K most flavours – 4.5 for 25g, chocolate – 5 for 25g.
  • Crunchy nut porridge pot 50g – 10.5

What about making your own? Perfect for kids as they can get involved with breakfast time to fill them up for the rest of the day.

If you follow Slimming World these are counted as below if you don’t use your Healthy Extra B choice.

  • Macadamia, 25g for 9.5
  • Pecan, 25g for 9, or 11 halves for a HEB
  • Pine, 25g for 9
  • Brazil, 25g for 8.5, 6 nuts for a HEB
  • Pistachio, 25g (shelled) for 7.5, 40 nuts for a HEB
  • Cashew, 25g for 7.5, 15 nuts for a HEB
  • Almonds, 25g for 7.5 or a HEB.

Syn Free Cooked breakfasts (bacon, sausage, hash browns, poached egg, rosti, easy breakfast casserole etc)

Start the day with something hot like a big hearty filling breakfast. This is an oldie but a goodie!

  • Eggs – Free foods if you poach, scramble, boil or fry with frylight.
  • Sausages – Check out all the best sausages.
  • Bacon – Bacon medallions are usually best, and scissors easily remove visible fat.
  • Tomatoes – Fresh, tinned, or cherry tomatoes. You could add Hendersons relish or Worcestershire sauce!
  • Mushrooms
  • Baked beans
  • Boston beans if you have time to sit for a full meal that is super filling?
  • Potatoes – You could make Hashbrowns, potato slices, chips or wedges. Have you considered mashed potatoes for a different breakfast?
  • Tofu – Tofu is a favourite with vegans. Using Himalayan black salt and turmeric you will be surprised how like eggs it tastes!
  • Quinoa – This tasty quinoa breakfast recipe is perfect for a warm savoury idea.
  • Stir-fried vegetables – Remember to use fry light not oil in the pan or air fryer! Whether you choose kale, red onion, courgette or asparagus or with scrambled eggs, in an omelette or as part of a rosti. ? If you are a sprout fan, you could have them too!
  • Smoked Salmon – Why not get some omega 3 into your morning routine?
  • Roasted peppers
  • Wholemeal Toast – use wholemeal bread as your HEB.

Other Hot Slimming World friendly breakfast or Weight Watchers ideas (omelette, crustless quiche, air fryer eggs in ham etc)

  • Breakfast muffins – Or a large crust-less quiche made in advance? Breakfast muffin recipe.
  • Baked eggs in ham – egg in ham recipes.
  • Breakfast Quiche or frittata – breakfast quiche recipe full of speed foods. If you like cheese and onion quiche maybe adapt your favourite slimming recipe slightly?
  • Omelette – what fillings do you like?

Best Breakfast Pancakes – SW friendly breakfast ideas

  • Apple pancakes are so tasty.
  • Omelette-style – Make them very thin!.
  • Ready Brek Pancakes – Mix together 40g of Ready Brek with 120 ml of skimmed milk and 1 egg. Whisk well and add a pinch of salt and you have the perfect mix enough for one person.
  • American-style made with bananas – 1 large ripe banana, 2 eggs, and 2 level tbsp self-raising flour – makes 12. With 2 at a time this is 6 slimming breakfasts in a few minutes. The whole recipe is 10 syns so share as you wish or scoff them all if you prefer!
  • Banana pancakes

Healthy Breakfast ideas with a difference (avocado hashbrown, raspberry and chocolate chia pudding you can use anything you like!).

  • Cottage cheese on toast.
  • Smashed Avocado
  • Garlic Mushrooms on toast
  • Crispbreads with cheeses (good if you struggle to use healthy extra choices).
  • Chocolate chia pudding – add raspberries for extra wow!

    This is a truly inspiring blog. I was sceptical after years of yo-yo dieting but pleasantly surprised to find new breakfast ideas, which actually look workable, unfussy and tasty.
