I really must be the queen of kitchen gadgets and I think I have everything I need until I find something new and realise I need that too! My favourite kitchen gadgets are those that encourage me to cook healthily and those that are small and can easily fit in drawers or cupboards! Here I will share with you my top 10 kitchen gadgets and the extra little gadgets I have bought for them which make them even better!

The above photo of chicken tikka masala, rice and aloo gajar matar was made using a slow cooker for the tikka, a pressure cooker for the rice, and an air fryer for the aloo gajar matar!

My top 10 kitchen gadgets

A blender

Whether you prefer a large blender or a hand blender, or perhaps both, they are so useful! Whether you are blending up milkshakes or smoothies in the summer or some soup during the winter they are invaluable.

This blender from Vonhaus is such good value for money and doesn’t take up too much space either. I love that it has alternative tops so you can use it for different things.

An Air Fryer

If you have never heard of an air fryer then you must have been living under a rock for the last few years. They are fast becoming one of the most popular kitchen gadgets which is essentially a mini oven and an alternative to a deep fat fryer.

I have used a huge variety of air fryers over the years and think they are mostly all the same and it is the capacity and price you need to be comparing.

I have written a whole post about my favourite air fryer accessories, have a read and see if it inspires you!

A food processor

Have you got a food processor? I don’t use mine as often as I should but they are amazing gadgets. With one gadget you can chop, mix, slice and grate with ease! This one is £74.99 from Vonhaus.

Food processors are probably one of the most versatile kitchen gadgets and they are much cheaper than they used to be to!

A Slow cooker

I love slow cookers there are so many things you can make in them from casseroles to whole chickens! Did you see my article full of slow cooker recipes? There are so many things you can make and the beauty of it is that your meal cooks while you are working!

Do you have any good slow cooker accessories? There are so many useful buys. My favourites are:

Electric can opener

It may sound silly but these are such a lifesaver. For a few pounds, you will find it changes your life. I always thought that they were silly and unnecessary but actually, they are pretty good and I wouldn’t be without mine now. This electric can opener could change your life too!

Meat Thermometer

I absolutely love my meat thermometer and it has probably saved us from food poisoning so many times. Not only that but overcooking food too! There are so many you can buy for a whole selection of prices, the one I have is quite expensive but worth every penny!

Microwave

How did we ever live without microwaves? There are so many things you can cook or warm in them. What is your favourite? Do you just reheat leftovers or use it to cook things like jacket potatoes and scrambled eggs? Nowadays we wouldn’t really call it a gadget as it is more of an essential but I still feel it is a gadget as I remember a life without one!

Teppanyaki grills

We use teppanyaki grills instead of a BBQ in the summer. They are electric and can be used both indoors and outdoors to cook great food of any kind. I especially like them for cooking vegetable burgers as they don’t have grill racks to drop the defrosting burger through!

Pressure cooker

I am quite a new convert to pressure cookers but have found them to be really useful. You can cook a whole joint of meat much more quickly and even things like rice are really easy to cook in it. I cooked perfect long-grain rice the other day in 15 minutes! Do be careful though as you usually need less water in a pressure cooker!

Coffee maker

I use my Tassimo machine every day without fail. It is perfect for all kinds of coffees, hot chocolates etc and whilst the pods can be quite pricy it delivers a delicious cup of coffee every time. It is definitely the most used of my kitchen gadgets! Whilst it doesn’t make your food any healthier it sure makes my mind healthier y starting the day with a coffee!

  1. My two favourites are the microwave and the slow cooker. Have had both for years and use them all the time. Well, perhaps the slow cooker more in Autumn and Winter – perfect for making soup, casseroles and stews!
