At taster sessions, members bring along a low syn or syn-free food for everyone to share as a big buffet. There are so many Slimming World friendly recipes you could make.
Remember though if for some reason you can’t take anything that is no excuse to avoid the scales! Yes, I know I have done that before so you are not alone!
Here are some great taster ideas for you. If you follow Slimming World at home online without a group then these are also great buffet ideas.

What can you take to a Slimming World Taster session?
So, what can you take? It doesn’t have to be something you have made remember you can take something you have bought too. The idea is that it is a syn free meal or a syn free snack.
Don’t let it being taster week put you off there are some really easy things you can make. Here are my suggestions for you.

Savoury ideas
Sausages – cook and serve cut-up cold your favourite sausages for others to try. Check all the best sausages and both meat and vegetarian to keep you on plan!
Curry Loaf – easy to make and perfect on Slimming World’s no carbs SP plan. It contains only “free foods” if you follow the Slimming World plan.
Ploughman’s on a stick – apple, cheese and pickled onion on a cocktail stick.
Caribbean Rice – a vegan/plant-based and vegetarian cold rice recipe which is healthy and full of flavour.
Rosemary and Caramelised Onion Mini Quiches – usually syn-free, vegetarian.
Houmous/other dips and crudités – often syn free, vegetarian, some are vegan, crudites can be carrot sticks, pepper, cucumber, celery, spring onion etc.
Hawaiian Sticks – ham, cheese and pineapple on a cocktail stick. Using Quorn instead of ham for a vegetarian option.
Soup – If you can take a flask then why not make some soup, can be Syn free, can be vegan/vegetarian depending on the recipe you follow.
Nigerian Jollof Rice – this is vegan and easy and will be really popular!
Sausage rolls – using wholemeal thins as “pastry”, using a beaten egg to seal. Check all the best sausages and both meat and vegetarian to keep you on plan!
Chicken Drumsticks – easy to cook and great warm or cold. Slimming World usually considers these as syn-free if the skin is removed.
Chicken Marinated in spices – toss some chicken pieces in some spices mixed with a little yoghurt and leave to marinate then cook as normal. Usually syn free.
Mini Pepper Quiche – great use of soft taco boats.
Snack a Jacks – quick to buy and low syn.
Doner Kebab Meat – this is really easy to make and will be a hit with those who like takeaways!
Sweet Potato Cakes – These are great little snacks and can be made whatever size you like for a taster.
Falafel – This recipe is so good but also so easy to follow.
Eggs in ham – easy and quick to make.
Pasta salad – cook some pasta, strain and cool and mix with cherry tomatoes, pickled red cabbage, cubed cucumber, cubes of pepper and diced red onion for a quick easy pasta salad. If you use the juice from the red cabbage also it makes it less dry. Or make my tomato and mozzarella pasta salad.
Tomato, basil and mozzarella sticks – using mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and basil leaves onto a cocktail stick. It is so easy but looks and tastes great!
Sticky chicken for salad or snacks – Use the recipe from this sticky chicken salad.
Boiled Eggs – simply boil some eggs and allow them to cool then peel!
Sweet taster ideas
Fruit Pasta Salad – usually syn free, vegan.
Pink and Whites – easy to buy and low syn for a sweet snack.
Fibre one bars – Low syn snacks that are quite popular and easy to pick up for a taster.
Cereal bars as healthy B choices eg. Aldi Benefit bars – easy to buy and cut up to share alternative healthy b ideas. Low Syn. Alternatively, have some fun making your own cereal bars?
Vanilla baked cheesecake – if you cut this into one syn pieces they will be really popular!
Melon, pineapple or mango fingers or a bowl of berries – easy to buy or cut yourself and healthy too.
Jelly – low syn and quick to make in little plastic shot glasses for the taster.
Frozen grapes – Grapes are great frozen and not everyone has tried them. If you can get them out of the freezer just before group then this is a great choice.
Carrot Cake – Low syn and yummy!
Fruit and vegetables – If you are struggling for time picking up a tub of grapes or bag of carrot sticks can be so quick and stop you from feeling like you are turning up empty-handed.

Are there any rules for Slimming World taster week?
Usually, the group consultant requests all food or drinks you take are syn-free or low syn.
Additionally, it is always a good idea to list ingredients or even provide the recipe. This can greatly help people with allergies and intolerances.
If you enjoy the food you make to take then the chances are someone in your group will so do take the recipe with you for people to photo on their mobile phone!
