What is a weighted hula hoop?

A weighted hula hoop is a fitness hula hoop that is typically larger and heavier than a traditional hula hoop. It is designed to provide more resistance during exercise, which can help to increase the intensity of your workout and engage more muscles which will hopefully help you to lose weight and tone up.

Weighted hula hoops are usually filled with sand or other materials to add extra weight, typically ranging from 1 to 5 pounds. Some have a padded exterior for comfort whilst others are made from plastic. Most hoops are available in different sizes to accommodate different body types.

Final thoughts

Before choosing a weighted hula hoop, it’s important to consider your skill level and its intended use. You don’t want a hoop that you can’t use at the start or one that will hurt you.

Personally, I think the K-Mart weighted hula hoop looks to be my favourite and I am thinking of ordering one as I know my friend loves her but I am still undecided!

As there are different types and sizes you need to ensure that you get one that’s the right size and weight for your body to avoid injury and to help you get the most out of your workout.

A heavier hoop may be more challenging but also more effective for building core strength, while a lighter hoop may be easier to use for beginners or those looking for a more low-impact workout.
