Are you one of the couples facing infertility and looking for alternative avenues? Infertility affects several couples across the globe. There are many possibilities affecting a person’s fertility; even lifestyle choices can impact fertility.

Couples who are infertile do not have to give up their hopes of starting a family. With modern technology, there are many options available for couples dealing with infertility, including fertility treatments, surrogacy, and adoption.

We would like to explore some ways of starting your family despite fertility issues.

Fertility Treatments

Although this sounds simple, many couples overlook the effectiveness of fertility drugs. Reproductive endocrinologists will examine both partners to determine the cause of infertility. Medications are prescribed once the specialist has determined the underlying cause.

The non-invasive treatments could include medications that improve sperm quality or assist by stimulating ovulation. Suppose the typical chemical treatments do not work. There are other options, including in-vitro fertilization (IVF), artificial insemination (AI), or surgical procedures, if the typical chemical treatments do not work.

Surrogacy

If you cannot carry your child for various reasons, a surrogate will do so for you. How much is a surrogate egg donor? You may find yourself questioning. The costs will vary depending on what procedures need to be completed.

With this option, an embryo is created by the intended parents, or an embryo is donated to be implanted into the surrogate’s uterus. This is an excellent solution for couples who do not feel that pregnancy is essential.

There are two types of surrogacy, traditional and gestational. Most couples opt for gestational surrogacy, which is when the surrogate carries a baby biologically related to the intended parents. When the surrogate is both the surrogate mom and the egg donor, it is called traditional surrogacy.

Adoption

Adoption is when a couple brings a non-genetically related baby into their family. It has changed significantly in recent decades, and many couples are surprised at how positive the experience can be.

Adoption has become a popular way to extend your family. This is not a cure for infertility, but if raising a child is more important than your genetic relationship, this is the right option for you.

Adopting a child gives a loving, secure home to a youngster who would otherwise be without one.

Adoptive families do not have to be foster parents to adopt a child in the foster system.

Foster Care

The court terminates the parental rights of a child’s biological parents in foster care so adoption can occur. Alternatively, children can be in foster care as their parents are unable to care for them temporarily.

Children can be in long-term foster care with no plan to go back to their birth parents or short-term foster care for days, weeks or months.

Living Child-Free

Seeking the advice of a fertility counsellor is recommended before choosing to live child-free. Choosing this course of action is not an easy road to take and should always be discussed thoroughly with your partner.

Deciding not to be parents is perfectly okay. It is possible to feel happy and fulfilled without adding children to your family.

When deciding what option is best for your family, consider speaking to a fertility counsellor. You will be guided in terms of medical options and the emotional and financial implications of your journey.

With the right help, you can build the family you have always dreamed of. Every couple’s situation is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all solution.
