Fakeaway egg fried rice – perfect for Slimming World
If you enjoy Chinese or Indian meals and would opt for egg fried rice, then this fakeaway egg fried rice is a great recipe to help you to make it much more healthily.
Even if you resort to ordering the rest of your meal from the takeaway, having this syn free side dish could make all the difference.
Adaptions you can make to this egg-fried rice
If you would like fakeaway egg fried rice as a main meal, you can easily cook other vegetables or meat to add to the recipe. It goes well however with a beef and broccoli stir fry recipe, or vegetarian dish similar to this.
If you decide to do this, then add at the same time as you add in the cooked rice and ensure everything is thoroughly warm before serving.

Why fakeaways are good for diets
Instead of ordering a takeaway, you should definitely consider making your own fakeaway. They are lower in calories and use more vegetables, so you can make them as healthy as you like.

Easy and delicious egg fried rice
An easy delicious recipe for egg fried rice that you can make at home yourself to be much healthier for you than ordering from a takeaway.
- Total Time: 10 minutes
- Yield: 4 Portions 1x
Ingredients
300g freshly cooked long-grain rice.
4 eggs
2 tsp grated fresh ginger
1.5 tbsp light soy sauce
2 spring onions, thinly sliced
Low-calorie cooking spray
Instructions
Beat the eggs with the ginger and half of the soy sauce in a bowl until well combined.
Heat the low-calorie cooking spray in a large frying pan over a high heat then add egg mixture and stir constantly for around half a minute until softly scrambled. Add the cooked rice, spring onions, and the remaining soy sauce and toss together for 1-2 minutes until the rice is piping hot and all well combined.
Do not over mix or it will get mushy!
Notes
This also works well with jasmine rice.
When cooking your rice ensure it is not over cooked otherwise it will not work well when then stirred into the egg mix.
