Here are some healthier snacking ideas which may help you all under 5 syns on Slimming World or 100Kcals. A perfect snacking amount if you are losing weight but still need treats.

Sometimes, however healthy you are trying to be, you just want snacks. when is your snacking time? I find that I am worse when I am bored in the evenings or if I am feeling emotional like after a counselling session.

There are so many healthy syn free snacks you could enjoy on the Slimming World plan I have written a full post of syn-free snack ideas. We don’t always want speed foods though do we and that is why we have a daily syn allowance!

Other good things to snack on are your healthy extra A choice of cheese or a cereal bar, bowl of cereal or some toast from your healthy extra B choice. How many syns you use is entirely up to you. Whether you use all your syn allowance on snacks or just a few syns on a bit of chocolate, the choice is yours!

Can you enjoy these snacks on other weight loss plans?

If you follow Weight Watchers (WW), Noom or any other weight loss plan you can usually count these in another way, such as points or calories, and all the following are under 100 calories, of course, always check your plan for advice.

Chocolate snacks for 5 syns or less

Of course, there are many things you can break or cut a piece off to fall within five syns or less but these are actual bars you can get for this allowance, all approximate and can be checked with weight loss plans or manufacturers directly.

  • Mars bar, fun-size 18g bar, 4 syns, 80kcal
  • Milky Way, fun-size 15.5g bar, 3.5 syns, 70kcal
  • Milkybar 12g, 3.5 syns, 70kcal

Unofficial Slimming World Sweets syns – five syns or less or under 100kcal

These are better calculated as individual sweets, so here are some sweets for approximately five syns or less each. Of course, not all you could have but a few you might like.

  • Aniseed ball 1.5 syns, 30kcal
  • Bonbon 1.5 syns, 30kcal
  • Flying saucer 0.5 syns, 10kcal
  • Jelly baby 1 syn, 20kcal
  • Cola Bottle 0.5 syns, 10kcal
  • Werther’s original sugar-free, 1 syn, 10kcal

Unofficial Slimming World Cake syns – five syns or less or 100kcal

There are not many cakes that you can enjoy for around 5 syns or less guilt-free, but here are a few you may enjoy!

There are a lot of cakes you can have 25g of for approximately 5 syns including Battenberg, angel cake, Carrot cake (though my healthier version is better!), Bakewell tart and chocolate fudge cake.

  • Mini chocolate brownie, 3 syns, 60kcal
  • Chocolate cornflake cake, 3 syns, 60kcal
  • Mini chocolate cupcake, 4.5 syns, 90kcal
  • Chocolate crispy cake, 3.5 syns, 70kcal
  • Mini éclair, 2.5 syns, 50kcal
  • Bitesize flapjack, 4 syns, 80kcal
  • Mini ring doughnut, 3 syns, 60kcal
  • Jam and cream mini roll, 5 syns, 99kcal

Unofficial Slimming World Jelly syns and calories

Jelly is a popular snack on Slimming World because it is generally quite low-syn and also sweet. Here are a few choices for around five syns or less.

  • Jelly cubes, 25g of cubes as sold, 3.5 syns, 70kcal
  • Ready-to-eat pot, standard, 125g post, 4 syns, 80kcal
  • No added sugar ready-to-eat jelly pot, 175g, half a syn each, 10kcal
  • Hartley’s jelly pots, no added sugar, 125g pots are just half a syn each in every flavour, 10kcal.
  • Hartley’s sugar-free jelly crystals are just 1.5 syns for an 11.5g sachet so perfect to make your own, 30kcal.

Unofficial Slimming World syns list and calories – Icecream

Skinny Cow Lolly syns

  • Mint double chocolate ice cream lollies or vanilla ice cream sandwich with chocolate biscuits, 100ml each – 6 syns, 115kcal.
  • Mini caramel bite lollies 3.5 syns each, 70kcal
  • Caramel shortcake ice cream lollies from a triple pack 4.5 syns each, 90kcal.

Halo Top Ice cream syns

These are my favourite low-calorie Halo top ice cream choices for approximately syns of 100ml.

As you can see below there is a huge variety of flavours and you can enjoy them all within this allowance! The Halo Ice Cream calories range from 280kcal to 370kcal per tub.

  • Halo top Cinnamon roll – 4 syns
  • Halo Top Vanilla bean – 4 syns
  • Halo top chocolate – 3.5 syns
  • Halo Top Birthday cake – 3 syns
  • Halo top Red velvet – 4 syns
  • Halo Top Oatmeal cookie 3.5 syns
  • Halo Top Cookies and Cream – 3.5 syns
  • Halo top Candy bar – 4 syns
  • Halo top Strawberry cheesecake 4 syns
  • Halo top Sea salted caramel 3.5 syns
  • Halo Top Peanut butter cup – 3.5 syns
  • Halo Top Chocolate dairy free – 3 syns
  • Halo top Toasted coconut dairy-free 3.5 syns
  • Halo top Sea salt dairy-free – 3.5 syns

The Halo Top ice cream is amazing and doesn’t taste low-fat at all so I would definitely recommend it.

Unofficial Slimming World syns list for Yoghurts and chocolate desserts

  • Muller light yoghurts’ most varieties are around 0.5 syns each.
  • Danone Light & Free Greek-style yoghurts, Blueberry/Vanilla/Lemon flavours 0.5 syns
  • Danone Light & Free Greek-style yoghurts, Strawberry/ Raspberry/ Cherry/ Coconut/ Lavish Lemon/ Blueberry Burst/ Strawberry Sensation/ Peach Passion Fruit flavours 1 syn each.
  • Danone Light & Free Icelandic style yoghurt, playfully plain syn free per pot. Raspberry & Blueberry flavours 0.5 syns each.
  • Muller light chocolate fix layers, chocolate and caramel flavour – 3.5 syns, mint chocolate – 4.5 syns, milk chocolate 5 syns.

Meringues

Meringues are a great way to add sweetness and crunch to yoghurt or to make a bowl of berries seem so much more special.

Large meringue nests are usually around 2.5 syns each but can depend a little on brands. Mini meringues are around 1 syn each.

If you want to add a bit of flavour to your meal, try some fat-free yoghurt, fromage frais, or quark.

Even if you’re on a diet, you can still enjoy cream – try light squirty cream, which only costs about half a syn for three tablespoons.

For a few syns more, you can have lots of squirty cream with strawberries in a meringue nest – a delectable dessert.

Unofficial Slimming World Biscuits syns list – 5 syns or less

Each of these are the syn values for individual biscuits, obviously, for some, you can have a few for the five syns, for others maybe only one!

  • Alpen light cereal bars – not quite like a biscuit but pretty nice! – around 3.5 syns each.
  • Mikado sticks – most are half a syn each.
  • McVities digestive thins – 1.5 syns each.
  • Arrowroot, 2 syns
  • Belvita, 3 syns
  • Chocolate finger, 1.5 syns
  • Chocolate chip cookie (hard and small), 3 syns
  • Coconut ring, 2 syns
  • Oreo 2.5 syns
  • Crunch cream, 3.5 syns
  • Custard cream, 3 syns
  • Chocolate digestive, 4 syns
  • Plain digestive, 3.5 syns
  • Fig roll, 3.5 syns
  • Jaffa cake, 2.5 syns
choc chip biscuits
  • Gullon sugar-free Shortbread biscuits 1.5 syns each
  • Gullon sugar-free cookies 1 syn each
  • Gullon sugar-free Maria – 1 syn each
  • Gullon sugar-free fibre biscuits – 2 syns each
  • Gullon sugar-free plain digestives – 2.5 syns each
  • Gullon sugar-free vanilla wafers 2 syns each
  • Gullon sugar-free Dark chocolate digestives – 3 syns each

Unofficial Slimming World syns list for spreads for toast for five syns or less

If you have your healthy extra b choice available still then you might consider having something on toast, there are lots of choices under around 5 syns you could try.

Here are a few ideas and their approximate syn values. Pop them on your meal plan!

  • Chocolate spread including Nutella 4 syns for 1 tbsp, 1.5 syns for 1 tsp.
  • Jam, 1 tbsp of standard jam, 2 syns or reduced sugar jam, 1 syn.
  • Marmalade, 1 tbsp of standard marmalade for 2 syns, reduced sugar 1.5 syns
  • Peanut butter standard 1tbsp 4.5 syns, reduced fat 1 tbsp, 4 syns
  • Marmite is syn free
  • Honey or Golden syrup, 1 tbsp for 2.5 syns.

Unofficial Slimming World Savoury snacks for five syns or less

Crackers and crispbreads

Each of these approximate syn values is for one cracker or crispbread.

  • Crackerbread (all varieties) 1 syn
  • Melba toast, half a syn
  • Plain or salted large rice cake, 1.5 syns
  • Savoury large rice cake, 2 syns
  • Breadsticks, plain 1 syn, mini half a syn and flavoured 1.5 syns
  • Butter puffs, 2.5 syns
  • Cream Crackers, 2 syns
  • Oatcakes, cheese/seeded 3 syns, plain 2.5 syns.
  • Snack a Jacks jumbo varying from 2-3 syns each.
  • Snack a Jacks bags varying syns from 4-6 syns a bag.
  • Morrisons Sweet and Salty rice cakes, 1.5 syns each.

Unofficial Slimming World syns for Crisps – 5 syns or less

There are so many crisps you could have a few from a larger bag of for your syns, but there are some that you can eat the whole bag, even if it is just a small bag! I don’t know about you but I can’t open a bag and just eat a few so I find it easier knowing I can eat the whole bag once I open it! Remember these syns are to the best of my knowledge and you should always check yourself if unsure.

  • Cheetos, 15g bag for 4 syns
  • Twiglets, 24g bag for 4.5 syns
  • KP Skips, 17g bag for 4.5 syns
  • French fries are 4 syns for an 18g bag, 4.5 for a 21g bag.
  • Quavers are 4.5 syns for a 16g bag and 5.5 for a 20g bag.
  • Snaps spicy tomato crisps (my favourite!) are 3.5 syns for a 13g bag, 4.5 for an 18g bag and 5.5 for a 21g bag.
  • Pom bear crisps are 3.5 syns for a 13g bag, 4 for a 15g bag and 5 for a 19g bag.
  • Popchips, all flavours, 23g bag for 4.5 syns
  • Lightly sea salted Propercorn, 20g bag for 4 syns
  • Smiths Frazzles, 18g bag for 4.5 syns
  • Metcalfe’s Skinny popcorn cinema sweet 11g pack – 2.5 syns
  • Metcalfe’s Skinny popcorn cinnamon sweet 25g pack – 5.5 syns
  • Metcalfe’s Skinny popcorn Sweet and salty 17g pack – 4 syns.

Unofficial Slimming World drinks syns list for five syns or less

Syns for Beers, Lagers, Ciders and Ales

All these syns are approximate and different brands can vary syns a little.

  • Ale and beer under 3.5% vol, 3.5 syns for half a pint
  • Ale and beer 3.5%-4.2% vol, 4.5 syns for half a pint
  • Ale and beer 4.2%-4.7% vol, 5 syns for half a pint
  • Cider, reduced alcohol or alcohol-free, 5 syns for half a pint
  • Lager, Reduced alcohol/light, 3.5 syns for half a pint or 4 syns for 330ml
  • Lager, alcohol-free, 3 syns for half a pint, 3.5 syns for 330ml or 5 syns for a 440ml can.

Unofficial Slimming World Wines syns, red, white and sparkling

I have a full post about choosing a wine that you may find helpful but these approximate syn values should help.

  • Bucks Fizz, 125ml 3.5 syns.
  • Red wine, 10-12% vol 125ml, 5 syns.
  • Rose wine, 8-10% vol 125ml, 4.5 syns.
  • Rose wine, 10.5-12.5% vol, 125ml, 5 syns.
  • White wine, 8-10% vol 125ml, 4.5 syns.
  • White wine, 10.5-12.5% vol, 125ml, 5 syns.
  • Reduced alcohol wine, 5.5% vol, 125ml for 3 syns approx, 175ml for 4 syns.
  • Low Alcohol or Alcohol-free wine with 1.2% or less vol, 125ml for 1.5 syns, 175ml for 2 syns or 250ml for 3 syns.
  • Sparkling wine, champagne/prosecco/cava etc 11-12% vol, 125ml for 5 syns.

Unofficial Slimming World Spirits and gin syns

If you enjoy spirits with a low-calorie or diet mixer then usually you only count the spirit. Most low-calorie mixers eg diet lemonade, diet Coke etc are free. This means there are so many you can have for five syns or less.

If you find a pre-mixed spirit can which is marked as low calorie or diet it generally will be around 3.5 syns for a 250ml can. Of course, individual ones can be checked on the Slimming World app or website as these are approximate.

  • Brandy, 25ml is 3 syns or 35ml for 4 syns
  • Gin, 25ml is 3 syns or 35ml for 4 syns
  • Rum (35-40% vol), 25ml for 2.5 syns or 35ml for 3.5 syns
  • Malibu, 25ml for 2.5 syns or 35ml for 3.5 syns
  • Archers or other 21% vol schnapps, 25ml for 3 syns or 35ml for 4.5 syns.
  • Tequila, 25ml for 3 syns or 35ml for 4 syns
  • Vodka, 25ml is 3 syns or 35ml for 4 syns
  • Whisky, 25ml is 3 syns or 35ml for 4 syns
  • Amaretto, 25ml is 3 syns or 35ml for 4.5 syns
  • Gin liqueurs, 25ml for 2.5 syns or 35ml for 3.5 syns
  • Martini, dry 50ml for 2.5 syns, sweet 50ml for 4 syns
  • Cointreau, 25ml is 4 syns
  • Baileys, 25ml for 4 syns
  • Tia Maria, 25ml for 3.5 syns or 35ml for 4.5 syns

Alcopops

Very rarely are these low in syns, check the Slimming World app or website for the syns. A general rule though is, expect them to generally be high!

I want to remind you to drink responsibly and know your limits. While enjoying drinks with friends can be fun, keeping your safety and well-being in mind is important. Coffee syns

If you make coffee yourself and use your healthy extra A choice for milk you can have it within your free and A choice allowance, if not here are some approximate syns you may find helpful.

  • Cappuccino with skimmed milk, large – 5 syns, medium – 4 syns and regular – 3 syns.
  • Cappuccino with semi-skimmed milk, large – 6 syns, medium – 5 syns, regular – 4 syns.
  • Cappuccino with whole milk, large – 7.5 syns, medium – 6.5 syns, regular – 5 syns.
  • Latte with skimmed milk, large – 5.5 syns, medium – 4.5 syns and regular – 3.5 syns.
  • Latte with whole milk, large – 10.5 syns, medium – 9 syns, regular – 7 syns.
  • Mocha with whole milk, large – 15.5 syns, medium – 13 syns, regular – 10.5 syns.
  • Mocha with skimmed milk, large – 13.5 syns, medium – 11.5 syns and regular – 9 syns.

So, as you can see it is so much better to make it yourself!

Slimming World Hot chocolate syns

There are a number of hot chocolates you can have under 5 syns.

  • Highlights hot chocolate 11g serving – 2 syns.
  • Options hot chocolate 11g sachet – 1.5 – 2 syns depending on the flavour
  • Options indulgence varieties 2.5 syns.

Milkshake syns

Crusha milkshake syrup, no added sugar version 25ml serving for 0.5 syns and if using healthy extra a milk it makes a low syn drink. If you can only get the standard version then that is approx 2 syns per 25ml. All flavours including cookies and cream have the same syns in each variety.

Nesquik milkshake powder, approx 1 syn per level tsp of all flavours.

How to calculate your syns?

Do you wonder how many syns you have? If you have forgotten what your consultant told you or perhaps you are following the plan at home and don’t know how many syns you should have then I have an article of all you need to know about that.

Check how to calculate your syns with my syns calculator. In general, if there are no free foods included in the snack then 20 calories is equal to one syn on the Slimming World eating plan.

Slimming World members of course have use of the app but if you are having to budget and let your membership lapse you can keep trying to reach your weight loss goals with a little help.
