My favourite read this year by a mile has been Daughters of Warsaw by Maria Frances which was based on the efforts of Irene Sandler who ensured over 2000 Jewish children were rescued from the Warsaw ghetto. I read many books in a year and frequently forget them after I’ve finished but this one still haunts me.
