When you want a meal that is both tasty and satisfying then this rosemary chicken ramen recipe is going to hit the spot. Packed full of delicious flavours and is so easy to create at home you won’t need to spend a fortune on a local takeaway.

I love how you can buy the ramen noodles and seasoning which has done all of the hard work for you. Chicken is a great protein to use as it can be fried, boiled and steamed and the ramen broth makes it so juicy.

This recipe serves two but you can easily add more to it and use another packet of ramen noodles and seasonings to make a bigger batch. You could make this as an evening meal and then enjoy the leftovers for lunch the following day. 

Ramen is such a lovely dish to make and one that the kids enjoy eating as it feels a little bit different and special. It looks different to their usual meals but yet packed with lots of goodness. You have to try this rosemary chicken ramen recipe. 

Ingredients needed to make this rosemary chicken ramen recipe

First of all, it is a good idea to ensure that you can get all of the ingredients together. Focusing on this first means that the cooking process will be simple. You will need:

  • 1 Large or 2 thin boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  •  Â½ teaspoon of black pepper
  •  1 clove of garlic, minced 
  •  1 teaspoon of fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  •  2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  •  1 package of roasted chicken noodles & seasoning
  •  Optional – Additional rosemary or a lemon slice for garnish

Alternatives to a packet of roasted chicken noodles and seasoning

If you prefer to buy dry egg noodles then simply add a chicken stock cube, ideally a roasted chicken one for extra flavour. Add enough water to rehydrate and cook the noodles and leave a little extra for the broth.

How to make the rosemary chicken ramen

Now that you have all your ingredients to hand it is time to make the chicken rosemary ramen. 

Coat chicken breasts with pepper, garlic, and rosemary and fry in olive oil until no longer pink in the middle and nicely browned on the outside.

While the chicken is cooking, prepare the Ramen noodles by boiling and draining then adding the seasoning packet. Toss until combined.

Remove chicken from the pan and slice chicken breasts into slices and serve over the Ramen noodles.

If you wish you can add the remaining oil/drippings from the pan or drizzle a small bit of olive oil over the dish for added flavour.

  • Give the lemon wedge a squeeze over the ramen for a fresh lemon flavour to run through it. 
  • I used 2 thin sliced chicken breasts. But if you have a large chicken breast you can use that and slice it lengthwise. Double up the quantities and make a bigger batch if you wish.

Variations to try

Like with a lot of recipes, once you have tried them out a few times you can look to make some changes and vary the recipe to suit your tastes and preferences. So I wanted to share with you some of them that you might want to try. 

  • Why not use mushroom-flavoured ramen instead? It will add an intense and different flavour that will be more earthy but still delicious and will work incredibly well with the chicken and rosemary flavours. 
  • Add some vegetables to this ramen. Things like cabbage, pak choi, mushrooms, shredded carrot and sweetcorn will all work well. With ramen, you can use any sort of vegetable so make use of what you have in the kitchen.

  • Make it vegetarian by just using vegetables instead.
