Midweek Catch up 18/6/25
Hello again, here we are, already it is midweek, the last week seems to have flown by! It has been so hot, hasn’t it? I have a variety of things to talk about this week.

Weight Loss, Exercise and Mental Health Catch-up
This week I have again weighed, but don’t know my weight. It is ladies’ week, though, so I am pleased not to know, as it always gets me down if I gain that week. That said, Stuart did say I had lost, so I am pleased with that.
I have previously talked to you about my gynae problems, and how some injections I was given improved those. Unfortunately, due to my mental health problems being made worse by the HRT they gave me, I was taken off those. Essentially, now I am back to square one with nightmare periods and on very strong painkillers for them. So, without boring you with the details, I feel rubbish this week!
I am now about 3 weeks into my higher dose of my antidepressants and I am unsure if there has been any difference as yet as my period always affects my mental health so it is hard to tell.
This week I made Stuart’s favourite for tea (and batch cooked enough for a few days and the freezer!) Malaysian Curry. Have you tried it yet? I am loving jacket potatoes at the moment, and various different salads, and have been living off those most of the last week! Today I couldn’t decide what to have for lunch, so I had a bowl of cereal! Whilst it isn’t ideal, I was determined not to slip back into the habit of skipping meals, so I am proud I had something even though I felt rubbish and didn’t want to.
I went on a lovely walk at the weekend and shared a selfie from my walk, then a selfie later in the hot tub, relaxing! Please forgive the hair, I am at the hairdresser’s this week, so it will look better again soon!
Books
I am still reading the book from Ben I told you about a few weeks ago, but I am now much further through that one. I am hoping by next week’s catch up I will have finished it. I have also read The Teacher by Freida McFadden, which was good but not one of my favourites. I think when I have finished them all, I might write a dedicated post to her books!
For book club, I have started a couple of books for the “books made into films or tv” genre, but I will tell you all about those and how I am getting on with them next week.
Audiobooks, I am currently listening to a book about Lucy Letby. I am really unsure, to be honest, what I think about her conviction. I have read so much about it all, and I do think there is a good chance she is innocent, but that said, why didn’t her defence call any experts? It is all strange! What do you think? I haven’t listened to as much this week as I have been binge-listening to (and sometimes getting distracted and watching) Murder 24/7 on iPlayer.
Family and Life
Ben is doing amazingly well at college and is on track for either Distinction-Merit or Distinction-Distinction on his course for this year. I am so proud of him, so he will be ready to celebrate on holiday!
Talking of holidays, we are all getting excited for our holiday this year. Did I tell you already we are driving to Mallorca? Is there anything specific you would be interested in knowing about it, so I can be sure to write about it afterwards (or even before)? I am planning on doing lots of TikToks and Instagram posts (which get copied onto my Facebook Page) too.
I saw my friend as planned last week for her birthday, which was lovely. I made her a fun gift which I will share on my TikTok, Instagram and Facebook later today, if you don’t have any of those, then you should be able to access to view with the links above.
Have you seen my camera bird feeders? I share footage from them sometimes on my social media accounts. This week, I caught a squirrel helping himself to some seeds on the camera, so I have shared that! Pop and have a look!
On The Blog
Whilst I haven’t written many new articles this week to share, partly because it is so blooming hot, I have made a lot of salads, so I thought I should reshare some of my most popular salad posts for you below.

- Pasta Salad Recipes

Work has been quite slow lately due to Google algorithm changes, AI and all that kind of thing. I would massively appreciate any clicks, shares, views, etc, to help me while it is quiet too!
I have been busy designing an amazing planner for people looking to lose weight, start exercising, be healthier or just make a little change like eat less sugar. It will be available to buy on Amazon in the next couple of weeks. I will be running giveaways on all my social media platforms and here for lots of you to win one too, so keep an eye out for that!
