Midweek Catch-Up 17/09/25
Hello again, I hope you have had a good week? Do let me know in the comments below as I love to hear from readers!

Weight Loss, Exercise and Mental Health Catch-up
So this week I haven’t been on the scales yet, but I need to! I feel like I am doing ok. I have had a few unhealthy blips, but on the whole, I am not doing too badly. Last night we had a calorie-laden meal out, but today I have had salad for lunch, and for tea I will be having pasta bolognese!
I am still not doing any exercise as my lungs are still being rather difficult! That said, I am not sure the weather has been conducive to outdoor exercise this week, it has been either really windy or heavy rain, often both! I might get back into our home gym though and see how much my lungs can cope with.
My mental health had a little bit of a dip last week but I feel a bit better now. I do keep having horrible dreams though and waking up with my hands clenched which is something I experience a lot due to my PTSD so I guess my mind hasn’t got the memo that I am feeling a little better just yet. Or maybe I am just kidding myself that I feel ok, who knows.
Books
I have had another busy week of reading, maybe I should be a book blogger! Here are the books I have enjoyed over the last week.
As I talked about last week I am still working through the Cara Hunter books, now I am around 3/4 of the way through book 5, The Whole Truth! I loved book 4 All The Rage and I am really enjoying the characters changing and evolving through the books.
I finished The Silent Ones by K L Slater on Audible this week and really enjoyed it. If you are a fan of thrillers then this is an author I would recommend and a lot of her books are free with membership on Audible from time to time.
I have also enjoyed The Lie by Kathryn Croft. It has been in my library for some time but I hadn’t got around to trying it out. Well it was blooming brilliant and I will definitely be looking to read more of her novels.
I am currently listening to The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell which is good, it definitely has Downton Abbey vibes which I am enjoying.
Family and Life
All has been back to normal now with Ben back at college and Stuart and I working from different rooms of the house, except when he is in the office that is! I like being back in routine and it is definitely good for me to just shut myself in my office, listen to true crime on Youtube and work away!
We went out for tea last night to Prezzo (review written and linked below) which was lovely family time and we invited frieds too. I have started planning my birthday bottomless brunch which I am excited for as I do love a good bottomless brunch! I will tell you all about that in a few weeks as it isnt my birthday until 7th October!
