Why you should try this garlic dip
This garlic dip recipe is easy and quick to prepare, and better still, it keeps in the fridge for up to three days, so you can make it in advance if you wish.
Garlic – it’s the ingredient that wards off both vampires and potential love interests. Despite its potent smell, the intense flavour livens up many a dish and is one of my absolute favourites.
I love this healthy garlic dip and I am sure you will too!
Health Benefits of Garlic
Did you know that garlic has long been considered a food with numerous health benefits associated with its consumption?
While people shouldn’t use it in isolation if they have issues with high blood pressure or cholesterol, garlic can be used alongside prescribed tablets to help lower these two.
For centuries, people have believed that eating garlic can help reduce the length and severity of a cold. So, what have you got to lose? It won’t do you any harm.
Try this garlic dip and see what you think.
What do I dip?
When trying to lose weight or watch what you eat, it can be tempting to buy or prepare a low-fat, low-calorie dip but then get through a tube of Pringles or a giant pack of tortilla chips.
However, it might be better to dip some tasty, crunchy vegetables instead.
Carrot sticks are as perfect. Save yourself money by buying a few loose carrots, then peeling and chopping yourself.
Although you can buy ready-cut carrot batons, these come at a premium and in a plastic bag, not so great for the environment.
Cucumber is another great option. Wash and cut into long, thin sticks, but not too thin, otherwise, they become floppy and difficult to dip.
Peppers go brilliantly with this dip. Personally, I avoid the green ones as they taste quite bitter.
However, combined with this dip, I don’t mind the flavour. Red, orange and yellow will always be my go-to colours, though.
Cauliflower and broccoli florets don’t have to be cooked, you know? I remember trying them raw for the first time, and it was a revelation.
Not only do they taste fantastic, especially dipped in this garlic creation, but you also avoid the yucky smell of vegetable water having them prepared this way.
