Keeping our homes clean is a constant battle, and a vacuum cleaner is one of the most crucial weapons in our cleaning arsenal. Choosing the right vacuum cleaner can be overwhelming with various brands and models. This review examines the Tower VL100 Optimum Cordless 3 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner with a HEPA filter. We’ll discuss its features, performance, and more. So, if you’re in the market for a new vacuum cleaner, keep reading to get our honest take on this Vacuum Cleaner with HEPA filter.

Design and Build Quality

The Tower vacuum cleaner is designed to be lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry up and down the stairs. Thanks to its black and blue finish, it has a sleek and modern look. It weighs 2.5kg so is easy to manoeuvre.

The build quality of the vacuum cleaner is outstanding, and the top is detachable, so it can quickly become a handheld cleaner for smaller jobs or areas such as the stairs. It feels durable and sturdy and is up to regular use.

Overall, the design and build quality of the Tower VL100 Optimum Cordless 3 in 1 Vacuum Cleaner are impressive.

Performance

The Tower VL100 Optimum Cordless Vacuum is powerful and easily picks up dust, debris, and fluff from carpets and hard floors. It features a high-efficiency motor that generates enough suction power to clean carpets thoroughly. It’s also versatile, with attachments that let you clean different surfaces and awkward corners.

The HEPA filter ensures that the vacuum cleaner captures allergens such as pollen and dust mites, making it an ideal choice for allergy sufferers. As Ben has a very severe dust mite allergy, I was keen to try this out as our Shark vacuum just wasn’t cutting it!

I found the power of the Tower Optimum cordless vacuum cleaner exceptional and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful and lightweight vacuum.

Why a HEPA filter could help with dust mite allergy

Dustmite allergies are quite common, and if you suffer from one as severely as Ben does, or just find yourself a little itchy and red-eyed after cleaning, then a HEPA filter vacuum might be for you. These tiny creatures are everywhere – in our mattresses, couches, and carpets. They are invisible to the naked eye and thrive in humid environments. But don’t fret. With a HEPA filter in your vacuum, you should notice a difference.

HEPA filters are specifically designed to capture tiny particles that standard vacuum filters might miss – like the allergens produced by dust mites. By trapping up to 99.95% of particles that are 0.3 microns or larger, a HEPA filter can help improve indoor air quality and make your home safer and more comfortable.

Ease of Use

The vacuum cleaner is easy to assemble in minutes. The dust tank is easy to remove and clean and has a 1-litre capacity.

The Anti-tangle head I found worked well as my hair is long and regularly tangles in vacuums (even ones that say it doesn’t!).

The auto mode with dust sensor makes it easy to use without needing the instructions, but if you wish, you can manually change the suction with 4 variable power modes using an easy LED touch display. It is also quiet, producing less noise than my Shark has ever produced!

Battery and Charging

This vacuum states it charges in 4 hours which I have found to be accurate. It also states an up to 60-minute run time, which is accurate in my experience.

Charging the vacuum is easy with a simple charger. The stand is perfect to hold the vacuum whilst it is charging too. If you prefer, it is also wall mountable.

Price

The Tower VL100 vacuum cleaner presents excellent value at an affordable price. It’s competitively priced at £149.99 but at the time of writing is on offer for £119.99. This is significantly lower than other vacuum cleaners with similar features. The vacuum cleaner has a three-year warranty, which is reassuring; however, one year is automatic, but you need to activate the extra two years for free online.

My thoughts on the Tower VL100

Initially, I was a little unsure when receiving the vacuum as brands like Shark, Gtech and Dyson have such good recommendations online, and whilst Tower is a good brand, I have seen fewer recommendations for this vacuum. That said, I was pleasantly surprised and thought it was much better than my Shark vacuum. I vacuumed with the Shark before trying out the Tower VL100 and found the Tower vacuum picked up a lot that the Shark had missed.

Whilst it is hard to tell if the HEPA filter in the Tower VL100 has made any difference to Ben’s allergy symptoms, as he has a whole selection of allergies and symptoms every day from one or another, I am highly impressed with the suction performance and amount of dust it picks up.

I love the auto setting, which changes the suction and power depending on the surface and need. It cleverly detects dust and increases the suction power accordingly, how clever is that? It is also easy to adjust this to your preference if you would rather.

I have tested the vacuum on carpets of different thicknesses and wooden floor and found it to be excellent all around. Whilst I don’t have a pet (something else Ben is allergic to!), I am confident from what I have seen that it would also be good on pet hair. As it can easily be converted to a handheld vacuum it is useful for big cleans as well as little clean ups!

If you are looking for a new vacuum, I would definitely recommend you consider the Tower VL100 and see if you love it as much as I do.
