Are you wondering what you could cook a romantic meal on Slimming World that is a bit special? Don’t worry it doesn’t have to cost a fortune to enjoy a meal with the one you love.
Here is a nice meal you can make really easily and that won’t ruin your weekly weight loss.
These recipes will even make you enough for leftovers the next day! If you already have all the herbs and spices etc in the cupboards then the main ingredients you need should only add up to around £10 which is cheaper than a meal out.
As there are leftovers too then essentially you are looking at around £2.50 per person.

Romantic Meal for two – Slimming World friendly
Starter
For starters, I recommend Double soup or red and yellow peppers. It is really tasty, looks impressive and can be made in advance then heated just before serving.
If you pour it at the table it looks so special as you can see. As it only uses peppers, herbs, stock etc it is super low in calories but full of flavour you could use some syns (or a healthy extra) for bread.
Main Course
For the main course, you obviously want something that you can serve after the starter easily. It needs to be something which needs very little attention so you can spend the evening with your partner rather than in the kitchen and ideally make in advance.
This is why I would recommend my delicious mushroom risotto. The recipe is so tasty you will feel like you are in a restaurant.
If you make it in advance it can be warmed easily in the microwave or could be warmed through in the oven. Just be sure to cover it so it doesn’t dry out.
Serve it with some roasted vegetables and if you want to top it with cheese go ahead (you could syn this or use your “healthy extra a” allowance).
An alternative might be something like a lean steak, homemade chips and Mediterranean vegetables.
Dessert
As your starter and main course have been syn free there are so many options for dessert and it doesn’t even have to be made if you fancy buying something for a treat.
You could even skip dessert and buy some chocolate body paint to have some fun with if you wanted, whether there are many syns in that compared to how many you burn are debated.
If you want to make something though here are some ideas all cheap and syn free or low syn.
Strawberries and Cream filo tartlets – Layer a few squares of filo pastry into a muffin or bun tray to make little filo baskets. Cook them and when cooled fill with chopped strawberries and sweetened fromage frais for a tasty low syn treat you could even grate a little chocolate on top!
Make having berries for dessert more interesting perhaps by serving them on yourself!

Drinks
Depending on whether you used any syns for your dessert you could probably treat yourselves to a nice bottle of wine too!
If you want a low syn wine then watch out for the low alcohol and low-calorie ones which are often the best option.
