Fitness. Now, that’s a big word. After all, how can you tell when a person is really fit? There are a lot of factors that go into the thing we call health, you know. You can be physically fine but be mentally sick. You can breathe okay and still feel suffocated inside.
There are many things to consider when it comes to matters of health. You have to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually in tune before you can proclaim that you’ve achieved fitness on a holistic level.
Why you need a home gym
But of course, physical fitness is always a big chunk of the whole equation. Why? Well, it’s because if you’re physically ill, it feels like everything about you seems off. Get what I mean? When your body feels heavy, your mind feels like it’s lifting a boulder too.
You get terrible headaches, migraines, and other sorts of physical discomfort that make you lose focus and concentration. When you don’t exercise as often, even your emotional state gets affected. You get mood swings, feel incredibly edgy – or sometimes, you feel nothing at all. You succumb to the clutches of anhedonia.
This is why I believe that there is a clear connection between overall health and physical fitness. At the end of the day, your choice of lifestyle affects your being on a fundamental level.
It affects the hormones you produce and that, in turn, affects how you mentally and emotionally react to certain things. I tell you, there is a lot more to physical fitness than you know.
Then again, it’s not like going to the gym feels easy. In my case, it feels like a big challenge. After all, who would willingly choose to get up early in the morning and head on down to the nearest fitness centre right?
No person in their right mind will choose backbreaking workouts over comfy sleep. It just goes against human nature. This is why I thought of a brilliant idea. I’ve had enough and I wasn’t going to put up with gym mornings any longer.
I’m stressed out at work as it already stands so surely I deserve to get in a nice snooze in the morning. I tell you, those 5 minutes of snoozing the alarm clock are extremely delicious.
This is precisely why I brought the gym home. Plus at home, you can wear an old T-shirt if you like instead of feeling you have to buy fitness gear!
Wait, what?
Yes, you heard that right. Instead of going to a fitness centre downtown, or even just around the neighbourhood, I created my own fitness haven at home. And you won’t believe just how easy it is to create your own smart home gym.
All you need to do is save up, purchase gym equipment (for the home, of course) and ba-da-boom! You can work out within your own time. Instead of running down to the nearest gym centre first thing in the morning, I save some time by getting my workouts done right in my living room.
Plus, I get enough time left for breakfast. Pretty sweet, if you ask me.
Here are three other reasons why I think investing in home gym fitness is the greatest idea ever:
It Saves Time & Effort
Already said this a while ago but I’ll say it again just because I think it’s the biggest perk! Yes, having your own gym at home helps you save not just time but effort as well.
If you’re commuting to the gym on the other side of town, then you should already know that the ride going there already takes up a lot of your energy.
Not to mention, you always feel like you’re in a rush. If you can work out at home, you get to grind more thanks to the extra time and energy!
You Cut Down On Costs
Well, hello. Gym registrations aren’t so cheap these days, you know. Sure, buying your own equipment isn’t chicken feed either but at least you get to use them indefinitely, right?
You pay for them once and get to use them for a really long time – longer if you know how to care for them well.
Workout On Your Own Time
Sometimes, it feels more motivating to know that you can break a sweat anytime you want. You have to be sure you follow a strict schedule though.
Otherwise, you’ll be defeating the whole purpose of working out at home. Work out after shifts, during weekends, whenever you feel like it; you become your own coach, sweet!
