Choosing lunches for weight loss
It is of course important to check any plan you follow and remember all nutritional information and ingredients are found in the recipe cards.
If you are a driver, or carer or need a lunch to take to work on the go then my work lunches on the go guide should help.
Cold packed lunches for work
Taking a packed lunch doesn’t mean you have to use bread and take a sandwich. I have so many unofficial Slimming World lunch ideas for you here that will help keep you interested in healthy food for lunch.
Sticky Chicken Salad
This Sticky chicken salad is a popular choice and can be enjoyed hot or cold.
Sweetcorn Fritter with Rocket and Salsa
This is a lovely lunch as you eat it cold so it doesn’t need warming through but it is a bit more filling than a salad because let’s face it salad can be nice but isn’t always that filling!
Sweetcorn Fritter could be adapted to make other fritters quite easily.
This mango couscous is a tasty option to consider and is so summery and fruity that it will always make you smile.
For a more Mediterranean feel why not try my roasted vegetable couscous with feta.
Your own recipe Couscous
Mixing up some couscous with a salad like diced peppers, cherry tomatoes, diced cucumber, diced onions and a little fat-free vinaigrette can make a tasty lunch without all the syns/calories of a shop-bought similar meal.
It can be made more filling with chunks of chicken or other meats.
DIY Pasta Salad
Simple and easy just boil some pasta, strain, and allow to cool. Then add in some halved cherry tomatoes, cubed cucumber, diced peppers, some pickled red cabbage in its juice (this helps make the pasta salad less dry), some diced onion and whatever else you fancy!
Fruity pasta salad
If you fancy something fruity and filling but not quite as savoury then how about my fruit pasta salad?
Check all my other pasta recipes.
Unofficial Slimming World lunch ideas – Make a fun Salad
A salad doesn’t have to just be leaves, tomatoes and cucumber there are so many great things you can put into a salad.
Ideas include eggs, chicken, Quorn, baby corn, mangetout, sugar snap peas, peppers, beetroot, pickled onions, cottage cheese, pineapple, ham, onions, celery, spring onions, rice, pasta, couscous, apple and so much more the list is really endless so the salad doesn’t have to be boring!

Why not use your healthy extra b choice and have a sandwich for your lunch if that’s what you fancy or fits well into your lifestyle?
There are so many sandwich filings it can give you a good variety but still be on plan.
You could also use your healthy extra a choice as cheese to make a cheese sandwich if you wish.
The only disadvantage with it, however, is of course that it is using that element which means you can’t have it for another meal or snack that day.
Falafel in a wrap or on its own
My easy falafel recipe is great for lunches in a wrap, perhaps with some mango chutney, or on their own with a yoghurt dip.
Spinach and pea frittata
This spinach and pea frittata is such a tasty easy recipe to make and full of iron and other nutrients.
Again this doesn’t require any kitchen equipment so ideal if you work out and about or just don’t feel like queueing for the work microwave!
The curry loaf is easy to make and you could make it at the weekend or the night before the choice is yours.
