My favourite Slimming World Syn Free Snacks

I am always thinking that I am hungry and want a snack that isn’t too unhealthy and isn’t fruit so I sought about finding some new ideas and wanted to share them with you.

Snacking on Slimming World

If like me you follow Slimming World and also like your food then it is all about making tasty syn-free snacks. Of course, snacks do not have to be savoury they can be sweet and still Syn-free.

Here I will share my top Syn-free snacks with you that we have as a family. They are Syn free in my experience so perfect on Slimming World so you can save those Syns for something else but do check yourself too.

If you have Syns to use don’t forget to check out my low syn snack favourites too. Whilst most fruit is Syn free I wanted to suggest some other ideas!

Iced flavoured coffee

Whilst it is more of a drink than a snack I promise you it is good and with sugar-free syrups or flavoured coffees it is definitely a good treat to try.

Sweet Omelette like egg custard

Beat a couple of eggs with a dash of water then add some sweetener and flavouring. The ones you get in the baking aisle of the supermarket are good, I love choc shot too (though that is a few syns) or how about these Skinny Syrups, I am not a fan of them but some people love them!

Yoghurt or Fat-Free fromage frais

There are some yoghurts that are Syn-free. My favourite though is using natural yoghurt or fromage frais and adding your own flavourings.

Bowl of blueberries and yoghurt.

Frozen Grapes

When you are looking for something to pick on while watching TV, grapes are great, not quite a family bag of chocolate but hey we can’t have everything. Frozen grapes are good too and last longer.

Homemade lollies

Making a lolly as we did as children with sugar-free squash might be just what you need for a tasty syn-free snack. Adding chunks of fruit can make this even better.

How about mixing yoghurt with fruit?

Frozen Yoghurt

Not the kind you buy they are full of Syns but freeze your favourite and enjoy it differently. Check your syns though with Slimming World as many are synned.

Fruit Pasta Salad

Cook the pasta in sugar-free fruit squash mixed with water rather than water alone. Then allow to cool and mix with some defrosted frozen fruit. It is so tasty! I absolutely love fruit pasta salad!

Pancakes

Ok, they are not quite pancakes but making a really thin omelette and then cooking as you would a pancake and topping it with a little sweetener and lemon juice! Using that crepe pan you bought on offer for pancake day can help!

Frozen Pineapple

If you freeze sticks of pineapple it is like a lolly and syn-free but so sweet.

Syn free Jelly

Make your own Syn-free jelly using sugar-free fruit squash and gelatine or a vegetarian alternative to set it. Be sure to check with Slimming World that the squash you choose is Syn-free though as they aren’t all!

Pickled Vegetables

Onions, Beetroot or even any other pickled vegetables. I love beetroot!

Cooled Savoury Rice

Homemade will usually make this Syn free. Simply boil vegetables of your choice with your rice and add a few spices too if you like.

Crab Sticks

Crab sticks or fish sticks are a popular snack and I believe Syn free. If you like them it is definitely worth giving them a try.

Cottage Cheese

I love snacking on a pot of fat-free cottage cheese. If you have a few syns to spare add a plain digestive biscuit!

The McVities light digestives are 3.5 syns each (approx). You can always add some spices or herbs to plain cottage

Eggs

Hard-Boiled Eggs or even Pickled eggs. Can be made in advance and kept for a few days in the fridge.

If you love eggs then do check out my tips with eggs here.

Mini Crustless quiches

These Rosemary and Caramelised Red Onion Quiches are my favourites. If you have a few syns to share then an alternative is these pepper quiches. These make great savoury snacks for in the car too.

Spinach and mushroom frittata

How about some frittata? You can adapt the recipe with all sorts of vegetables.

Curry Loaf

This curry loaf recipe is lovely warm and cold, perfect, on the Slimming World SP plan or another low-carb diet. It is full of flavour and really is a great snack.

Vegetable Sticks with Houmous

These dip recipes make some lovely dips including hummus some of which do not have syns. Quark makes some great dips as well as is useful in a lot of other quark-based recipes.

Pasta Salad

Great to keep in the fridge and pick on whenever you fancy it.

Cooked chicken or Quorn

Cook it with some spices to make it a bit more interesting. If you like spicy then how about this Peri Peri chicken?

Chunky Vegetable soup

Filling and warming when you need a snack it is easy to heat up when you want it. If you only like blended soup there is no problem with that obviously but I don’t find it as filling.

Check out all my tasty soups recipes.

Mushy Peas

Personally, I can’t stand them but I know they are a popular snack. Stuart loves them with mint sauce which is only a few syns depending on how much you like.

Easy to make in the air fryer and season as you choose.

Couscous

Cold couscous mixed with cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, onions etc to make a couscous salad. Alternatively, my recipe for wholesome vegetable couscous is lovely.

Caribbean Rice

Caribbean Rice is yummy and sweet and savoury at the same time! It is great as a meal with Jerk chicken or on its own as a tasty snack.
